Working together
Payroll Outsourcing: Working with Accountants
Clear instructions and approval arrangements matter more than the number of emails exchanged.
When the accountant pays us
We offer either route: your practice gathers information and approves the payroll, or we liaise directly with an authorised contact at the employer. We agree the route for each payroll so no one assumes somebody else has approved the figures.
When the employer pays us directly
We deal directly with the employer for information and approval. With appropriate authority, we provide the standard payroll reports needed for your accounting work. Standard payroll prices apply.
Before the first run
- Confirm the legal employer, PAYE scheme, pension arrangement and pay frequency
- Name the person authorised to instruct and the person authorised to approve
- Agree data transfer, document recipients and password arrangements
- Set information and approval deadlines, allowing for bank holidays and payment lead times
- Record the billing route and accountant-introduced client protection
A change in arrangements
Tell us before changing contacts, pay dates, pension schemes or approval arrangements. We confirm the effect on the timetable and any additional work. We do not treat an informal change of email recipient as authority to disclose employee information.
